Trial is the next step for a Coffey County resident accused of sex-related crimes.
Roy Anthony Hernandez faces nearly 30 counts, ranging from indecent liberties to sodomy and rape, against two alleged victims from October 2014 to April 2016. Prosecutors say one of the alleged victims was as young as 9 when the abuse started, while the other alleged victim was as young as 15.
Hernandez was originally charged with 22 counts, and as part of a hearing last week, prosecutors filed a motion to amend the charges before trial begins Monday.
