Two people were hurt, including an Americus man, after a wreck in northwest Lyon County on Wednesday.
Lyon County Deputy Daniel Calvert says the crash happened in the 2900 block of Road F, or Americus Road, shortly after 1:30 pm. The crash happened almost directly between Americus and Bushong.
Calvert says the initial report was for a rollover injury crash. Deputies and Emporia/Lyon County EMS found two vehicles had crashed: a northbound car driven by Andrew Auwater of Paola and a southbound pickup driven by Marc Johnson of Americus. The investigation indicates Johnson’s truck crossed the center line and hit Auwater’s car on the front driver’s side corner.
Both drivers had apparently minor injuries. Johnson was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health.
Deputies are investigating.
