One person was hurt and hospitalized after a crash in downtown Emporia early Friday.
Emporia Police and Emporia Fire/EMS were dispatched to the 6th and Mechanic intersection around 5:40 am. Emporia Police Sgt Dominick Vortherms says a northbound car on Mechanic and an eastbound car on 6th approached the intersection before colliding in the intersection.
The driver of the northbound car was taken to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries, while the eastbound driver was not hurt. Names have not been released and officers are determining whether to file citations in this incident.
