The potential for severe weather and heavy rainfall has led to the entire KVOE listening being placed under a flood watch.
The watch goes from Saturday night through Sunday morning and has been issued in response to a slight severe weather risk that covers the entire area through the weekend. Any storms that develop, likely between the late afternoon to mid evening hours, could be capable of producing heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding in rivers, creeks, streams and other low lying areas in the late evening hours Saturday to overnight hours Sunday.
In addition to the flooding potential, storms could also produce wind gusts in excess of 70 mph and quarter sized hail. Following Saturday’s severe storm potential, Sunday will again bring a slight risk for severe storms in the mid morning to early afternoon hours with high winds and heavy rain again acting as the main hazards.
Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for severe weather updates as warranted through the weekend.
