One person was hurt after a crash on the Kansas Turnpike in Chase County on Friday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 11:30 am on the Kansas Turnpike at mile marker 113, or just northeast of the Flint Hills cattle pens exit. Troopers say 81-year-old Henry Chamberlain of Bonner Springs was driving a car southbound when the car left the highway to the right for unlisted reasons. The car hit a tree and a nearby fence before stopping in water.
Chamberlain was taken to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries. It is unclear whether the water was standing from previous rainfall or how deep the water was at the time of the wreck.
