Repairs are complete and the Emporia splash pad is back open for operations.
The City of Emporia announced the temporary closure of the splash pad Monday morning due to needed repairs. According to messages from the city, those repairs wrapped up Tuesday afternoon and the splash pad is back open under normal operation hours.
The cause for the repairs has not been announced.

Emporia’s splash pad at Peter Pan Park could open by this upcoming weekend.
The city announced the closure of the splash pad Monday. City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says the main filter housing broke. In the process, there was a loss of water pressure, thus causing the city to close the pad.
Torrens says parts are on order, so the splash pad should re-open by the weekend, if not sooner.
