Play is beginning soon for the 2026 Glass Blown Open.
The GBO will officially get underway on Friday, with check-in taking place Thursday. GBO Tournament Director Jackie Morris joined KVOE’s Morning Show to preview the event and says the tournament will welcome nearly 400 players across all divisions.
The tournament will be played across four courses at Champions Landing, Jones East, Jones West and Peter Pan Park, with the championship rounds taking place Sunday at Champions Landing. Morris says that the GBO continues to be a core event for the disc golf community, and that returning to its roots and “festival-like feel” has helped keep it a key date circled on most calendars.
In addition to the competition, the event will also include the annual GBO block party and food truck festival in downtown Emporia Saturday evening. Morris credited the long-standing partnership with Emporia Main Street for playing a strong role in making the party a staple of the GBO experience.
