The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced a nearly $2 million bid award for geometric improvements coming for Kansas Highway 99 in south Emporia.
Killough Construction of Ottawa bid over $1.8 million to be the lead contractor on a grading and surfacing project impacting over half-a-mile of K-99, or Commercial Street, between the Soden’s Grove bridge and Kansas Avenue. A start time for that project has not been announced.
Also, an Emporia company has secured a signage contract with KDOT for highways in eastern and east central Kansas.
Cooper Construction LLC was awarded a bid to handle signage along parts of Kansas Highways 31, 58, 59, 169 and 169B in Coffey, Allen, Anderson, Franklin and Linn counties. The submitted bid was just under $594,000.
