USD 253 Board of Education members will convene for their first meeting of the new fiscal year Wednesday evening.
With the start of the new year will come several routine matters, including the appointment of the board’s president and vice-president in addition to several items under the consent agenda portion of the meeting. Other matters will include consideration of approving salary schedules and the tentative agreement and negotiated agreement for licensed professionals.
Policy and handbook updates for the coming school year and a notice of revenue-neutral rate intent will also be considered. Outside of the routine business, board members will also receive an update on the Emporia Recreation Expansion project through the Emporia Recreation Commission.
The meeting begins at 6 pm inside the Mary Herbert Education Center.
