Flint Hills Technical College has announced its new Vice-President of Advancement.
Former Symphony in the Flint Hills board member and donor relations manager Kelly Tastove has been tapped to take on the role effective Monday, July 13. A news release from the college stated that Tastove’s “extensive background” in developing philanthropic partnerships, managing event logistics and creating relationships and partnerships with communities across the region make her an excellent candidate for the position.
In the same news release, Tastove stated, “I am incredibly honored to join Flint Hills Technical College in this capacity. FHTC has a profound impact on our students and the economic vitality of our region. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, foundation board, and generous donors to create new opportunities that empower our students and fuel the
future workforce.”
Tastove’s responsibilities will include increasing ties with local industry partners, expanding donor collaboration, and the launch and oversight of new campaigns to support the college into the future.
Of Tastove’s appointment, FHTC President Dr. Caron Daugherty noted the administration’s excitement for its new member, adding she has personally witnessed the fruits of Tastove’s labors in the past. “I attended several Symphony in the Flint Hills events and from the first one, I was impressed with how event leaders showcased Symphony supporters. To have that proficiency advocating for our students is exciting. Kelly’s roots in our region combined with her passion for advocacy and experience with philanthropy make her an ideal voice to champion our advancement efforts.”
Tastove will be replacing longtime Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch, who left FHTC last month to take on the role of Director of the Kansas City Kansas Community College Foundation following 17 years with the local institution.
