Before the primary election next month, the 3 main Democrat candidates for governor will be in Emporia.
Lyon County Democrats are hosting all three candidates, with all meet-and-greets at the party headquarters, 718 Commercial.
Kansas Senator Cindy Holscher and Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog will be in Emporia at 6:30 pm Tuesday. Kansas Senator Ethan Corson will appear at 6:30 pm July 28.
The candidates are hoping to become the state party’s standard-bearer with current governor Laura Kelly, a fellow Democrat, ending her second term in office and ineligible for a third.
There are 7 Republicans running for governor, including Ty Masterson, Charlotte O’Hara, Nick Reinecker, Stacy Rogers, Philip Sarnecki, Vicki Schmidt and Scott Schwab.
