There is one item each for the Lyon County Board of Zoning Appeals and Emporia Planning Commission when both boards meet back-to-back Tuesday.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will take its third public look at an official request for a variance from the front and side yard building line at 2803 Eaglecrest. 7Brew wants to build a drive-thru coffee shop there, sharing parking space with a Taco Bell, but BZA members have already said they have concerns about overall traffic numbers and traffic flow, both inside the parking lot and nearby. Following the June meeting, Planning and Zoning Administrator Justin Givens says 7Brew representatives would provide a detailed traffic study for the meeting Tuesday.
The Planning Commission’s business includes a request for a conditional use permit to allow a single-family attached home at 1228 West 5th.
Both meetings are in the Municipal Court Room. The BZA meets first at 6 pm, with the Planning Commission meeting to follow immediately afterward.
