Hartford is now in the market for a new City Hall, at least on a temporary basis.
Mayor Kenny Hamman tells KVOE News:
Because the city has a cash value insurance policy, there is currently no word on how much money the city could get for the structure.
The building was constructed in the early 1880s. The engineering assessment, meanwhile, follows wind gusts estimated at 60-70 mph the morning of July 4.
Hamman says there are now temporary city operations at the new Hartford Community Center. Most items will move, but not all — at least not initially.
In the meantime, the city can take demolition bids — and Hamman says that process is getting started as the city reaches out to potential contractors. The process could also impact the old Community Center next door.
Hamman says it’s tough to lose a building with deep historical connections to the community.
Hamman doesn’t see any long-term plan to stay in the new Community Center.

Hamman says the City Council will discuss immediate and future next steps at its next meeting, which will be at 7 pm Wednesday at the new Community Center.
