Christmas is coming early for Emporia High School’s Theatre troupe and you can help give them a happy, early holiday.
Monday, the theatre department launched its Christmas in July fundraiser seeking donations of items to support productions as part of the upcoming EHS theatre season. The fundraiser will run now through July 31st, with the department’s “Christmas list” including requests for paintbrushes, hot glue guns, brooms and dustpans, sewing machines, bellhop carts and more.
The full list can be found on the Emporia High School Theatre Facebook page and donations can be dropped off at the high school at 3302 West 18th. Financial donations will also be accepted and can be made in person or online at EmporiaHighSchoolTheatre.ludus.com.
The 2026-27 theatre season will include productions of Suite Surrender in the fall, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the spring, an advanced theatre performance of The Greek Kapok Tree and Wildheart, which will be the department’s musical this year.
After making history this year with the performance of A Piece of My Heart, the EHS department will make history yet again with this year’s musical, as Emporia will be the first Kansas school to perform the new production by Chelsea Marcantel, which tells the story of Joan of Arc.
