Head Emporia State women’s tennis coach CyCy Peyroche has announced she’s stepping down as the head coach of the Lady Hornets. She was the first female to be named a head coach in the history of the ESU tennis programs when she took over as the interim coach of both the men’s and women’s teams for the 2023 spring season. Peyroche formerly played at ESU and compiled a 23-15 record in singles for the Black & Gold. She was named the full-time women’s coach in the fall of 2023. Under her direction, the Lady Hornets went 29-46 as a team with a 10-24 mark in MIAA action in her four seasons as head coach. ESU Director of Tennis and head men’s tennis coach John Blackburn will oversee the program until a replacement is found.
