Nobody was hurt after a garage was destroyed by fire at Council Grove City Lake this past Saturday.
The Council Grove Police Department says the fire was reported shortly before 5 pm Saturday at Cabin C19. The structure in question, a storage shed, was reported as fully engulfed. Council Grove Fire & Rescue, Morris County EMS, neighbors and property owners all worked to contain the fire before it spread to nearby cabins.
The shed was declared a total loss. The cause appears to be accidental and likely caused by old or faulty electric wiring.
Damage to surrounding properties was listed as “minimal.”
