Several area entities have been targeted for grant funding through the Kansas Arts Commission.
Lyon County has 3 grants being distributed:
*Emporia Arts Council gets over $10,400 for general operating support
*Emporia First Friday Art Walk receives over $8,200 for general operating support
*Hetlinger Developmental Services gets $10,000 through the Arts Everywhere program
For Morris County:
*Community Arts Center of Council Grove gets over $3,700 for general operating support
For Wabaunsee County:
*The Paxico Blues Fest through the Kansas Rural Communities Foundation gets $10,000 through the Arts Everywhere program
*The Volland Fountion gets almost $11,000 for general operating support
All told, the Arts Commission is granting $750,000 in support of 92 projects statewide. Entities receiving grants have to provide at least a dollar-for-dollar match.
