The nearly month of fun for everyone begins Thursday.
The Lyon County Fair begins Thursday with the Friends of 4-H Picnic at 6:30 pm at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building, launching an event schedule that goes until the tractor pull Aug 14.
Other schedule highlights:
*Show events begin Friday with the dog and cat shows inside the Anderson Building and continue through the premium sale Aug 10 at the Show Arena
*The annual BBQ competition is Saturday
*The Anderson Building closes for judging 10 3 pm Sunday
*The carnival goes Aug 4-8
*The demo derby is moved to the middle of the grandstand schedule instead of the end, taking place Aug 8.
*Besides the demo derby and the tractor pull, other grandstand activities include the ranch rodeo Aug 1, CPRA rodeo Aug 2-3, Buck Rumble and Roll with mutton bustin’ Aug 4, 4-H rodeo Aug 5, the antique tractor pull Aug 6 and Figure 8 races Aug 7.
KVOE’s reports from the Lyon County show events begin Monday, with reports in the 6 am and noon hours of information. The live video schedule includes the beef and bucket calf shows Aug 7, sheep and goat shows Aug 8 and the swine show Aug 9. We’ll also have special on-site broadcasts for Buck Rumble and Roll, 4-H rodeo, the demo derby, premium sale and tractor pull.
