Lyon County deputies say a crash near the Coffey County line led to an arrest Thursday night.
Deputy Daniel Calvert says the crash was reported just after 9 pm on Interstate 35 near the Kansas Highway 130 junction. Deputies found a pickup was stopped in a field around 75 yards north of the highway. The resulting investigation determined the truck was southbound and left the highway for unknown reasons, eventually hitting a tree along a fence line on the north side of the Interstate.
The driver, Andrew Huffman of Wichita, declined on-site treatment after getting minor injuries but was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and related narcotics violations. Deputies are investigating with assistance from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
