The schedule has been announced for the city of Emporia’s annual Street Rehab infrastructure project.
Work begins Tuesday on Graphic Arts from 22nd to West Ridge Drive. Weather permitting, work should last through Friday.
Also starting this week will be a 4-day project on Eaglecrest Drive beginning Thursday and a 4-day project on West 24th from Prairie to Lincoln beginning Friday.
Other work zones, in order of construction:
*West from South to 2nd. Work should happen Aug 10-11
*Neosho from South to the dead end. Work should happen Aug 11-14
*State from South to a bridge. Work should happen from Aug 11-14
*11th and Constitution. Work should take place Aug 12-13
*West 7th from West to Congress. Work is scheduled Aug 13-18
*Garfield from 6th to 12th. Work is slated Aug 13-18
*West 9th from US Highway 50 to about 400 feet west of the intersection. Work is set for Aug 17-19
*East 9th from Mechant to Union. Work should happen Aug 17-20
*Whildin from US Highway 50 to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks. Work is set for Aug 18-21
Street Rehab involves mill and overlay, but it also includes curb and gutter work as well as handicapped-accessible ramp construction. During the asphalt paving processes, driveway access will be closed for up to 90 minutes. Street access will likely be restricted to one lane during the asphalt paving work.
