Cost overruns for the Rocky Ford Bridge replacement project will likely get handled at the Lyon County Commission meeting Thursday.
County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield will offer a proposal to pay almost $95,000 in overage costs from the county’s Bridge Construction line item. Lyon County says 85 percent of all expenses can be reimbursed by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The project was ahead of schedule up to early April, when the deck was poured and rebar poked through the concrete after it was initially poured. The deck had to be repoured.
In other business, Sheriff’s Office representative Tobey Kelley will present an invoice for upfitting a pickup at a cost of almost $5,000. Street Cats Club founder Victoria Partridge will have an operations update. Human Resources Director Alicia Rumold will discuss an update Grade and Rate Classification table. Commission and staff reports are planned, along with an executive session for non-elected personnel.
The meeting starts at 9 am Thursday at the County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
