Budgetary matters will highlight a lengthy agenda for the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education this week.
Board members will review the 2026-27 budget before likely approving two public hearing dates, one for surpassing the revenue neutral rate for the current academic year and one for discussing the budget.
Separately, the board will consider a nearly $33,000 roof maintenance agreement with Coryell Roofing to include inspections, maintenance and repairs for all district buildings.
Board members will look at job descriptions of revised affective services coordinator and early childhood and family liaison, as well as a temporary special education academic evaluator. A discussion about a business office improvement plan is also scheduled.
Other presentations include information about structured literacy and the Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative’s extended school year.
The meeting Wednesday begins at 6 pm at Mary Herbert Education Center.
