Trial was supposed to begin this week in an aggravated human trafficking case in Lyon County. The defendant in the case has averted trial by accepting a plea agreement.
Patrick Rosenberg was set to begin trial Monday. At his status hearing this past Wednesday, Rosenberg pleaded no contest to single counts of aggravated sexual battery and indecent solicitation of a child.
Rosenberg, age 43, was originally charged with 12 total counts for alleged activity in mid-November 2025, including aggravated trafficking of a child, commercial sexual exploitation, aggravated sexual battery, indecent solicitation of a child, contributing to a child’s misconduct and furnishing alcohol to minors. Three victims were listed, ranging in age from 14 to 17.
Sentencing is Oct 21. Rosenberg could receive over 10 years in prison for the aggravated sexual battery count and nearly 4 years in prison for the solicitation count. Both charges carry a 25-year period on the state’s sex offender registry list.
