The Emporia State volleyball team is receiving votes in the initial AVCA Top 25 Preseason Poll. The Lady Hornets finished No. 23 in the country a year ago and are sixth among teams receiving votes to start 2026. Concordia St. Paul out of the NSIC is the preseason pick to win the national title with the Golden Bears receiving 18 first-place votes followed by national power Tampa who received 10. MSU Denver also got 18 first-place votes to be picked third with Point Loma fourth and St. Cloud State fifth. Nebraska-Kearney was the highest ranked MIAA team at No. 7 with Washburn a spot behind. Central Oklahoma was picked 12th while Missouri Western is tied for 16th. Central Missouri also received votes in the poll. ESU opens the season at the Ferris State Tournament on Thursday, August, 27 in Big Rapids, Mich.
