Thick fog has been patchy in nature north of Emporia — but widespread enough for the National Weather Service to issue an alert.
A dense fog advisory is in place for Morris and Wabaunsee counties until 10 am. The Weather Service says visibility may be as low as a quarter-mile to half-mile in some places.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, use low-beam headlights and increase the driving distance between vehicles.
