The Osage City volleyball team returns to the court looking to build on a breakthrough 2025 season.
The Lady Indians made their first trip back to the state tournament in 15 years last fall, capping the season with 27 victories and a sub-state championship. Head coach Carly Chisham is hopeful that success can provide momentum heading into the new season.
Osage City brings back a plethora of talent from last year’s squad.
A pair of juniors headlines the group of Lady Indians back. Kaelyn Boss returns after putting together a 294-kill season and will be one of the team’s primary offensive weapons. Jada Ruiz anchors the back row after recording 427 digs last fall.
Senior Madalyn Mullinix will be relied upon heavily after doing a little bit of everything for the Lady Indians. Sophomores Amelia Stark, Hayden Lieber and Jayla Jenkins also return after seeing significant court time as freshmen.
The biggest question mark comes in the back row, where Osage City will need to find a replacement at libero for Emory Speece. Speece graduated after a standout senior season that earned her KVOE Female Area Athlete of the Year honors.
With a strong core returning and another year of experience under their belts, the Lady Indians will look to make another deep postseason run.
Osage City opens the 2026 season on September 1 at Wabaunsee.
