A Topeka man suffered potentially serious injuries after a crash in north Lyon County on Wednesday.
Lyon County Deputy Riley Jones says the crash happened shortly after 4:15 pm near the junction of Roads 320 and N. An SUV was eastbound and left 320 for unlisted reasons, hitting a tree before stopping.
The driver, 73–year-old Robert Alan Dewitt, was airlifted to University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
During the investigation, Jones says deputies found out Dewitt had been listed as missing from Topeka and had several currently-unspecified medical conditions.
Besides deputies, Emporia/Lyon County EMS, Allen-Admire first responders and the Kansas Highway Patrol all converged on the scene. The wreck is still under investigation.

Emporia Fire/EMS says the wreck happened near the junction of Roads 320 and N, about 2 miles southwest of Admire, shortly after 4:15 pm. Details have not been released, but the driver was taken by air ambulance to University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, with unspecified injuries.
