A career-high 17 tackles has led to multiple accolades for Emporia State linebacker Landon Boss. The Osage City native was first named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Then, later that evening, The College Football Network named Boss its national D-2 Defensive Player of the Week. Boss racked up the stops in the Hornets’ 36-30 win over Minot State in Week 0. It was the most tackles by a Hornet since Gabe Cleveland made 19 stops back in 2017. The 17 tackles was the most by anyone in the MIAA in Week 0 and was the second-highest total in the country. The MIAA weekly award was Boss’ third-straight dating back to last season.
