Experience is the name of the game for Emporia High cross country this fall.
The Black and Red return a large contingent as they prepare to hit the course for the 2026 season, including two runners who bring state tournament experience back to the lineup.
On the boys side, Xaden Delgado returns after racing to 13th place at the state tournament last season. Madison Evans also returns with state experience, finishing 29th in the girls field.
With that experience and a strong group of returners, head coach Michael Robinson believes his boys team is entering the season with clear goals and plenty of motivation.
The Spartans will get their first opportunity to put those goals to the test Saturday morning when Emporia High opens the season in Manhattan at Warner Park.
