Fire destroyed a tractor in north Lyon County on Tuesday.
Reading fire crews responded to Road 350 between Roads H-2 and K around noon. Fire Chief Scott Wilkerson says the tractor caught fire in the middle of a grass field, setting the nearby grass on fire. The tractor was totally destroyed, as was less than 10 acres of grass.
No injuries were reported. A cause is under investigation, but a combination of extreme dry grass and the current hot weather may have contributed.
