August was better than expected for Kansas revenues.
The state had total tax receipts at almost $715 million, beating August 2025 and projections from the Consensus Revenue Estimating Group by 11.5 percent.
All three major categories had collections above last year or current estimates, if not both. Individual income tax collections were above estimates by almost 15 percent and almost 19 percent from last year. Corporate income tax collections beat estimates by 4.2 percent. Combined retail sales and compensating use tax receipts were up 2.3 percent from estimates and 4.5 percent from a year ago.
