The cross country season got underway Saturday morning for Emporia High in Manhattan at Warner Park.
Emma Beatty claimed bronze for the Lady Spartans and Madison Evans slid into 15th. Manhattan earned the team title.
The boys were led by Xaden Delgado in 30th place. The team title went to Washburn Rural.
EHS will host the Emporia Invite at Jones Park next Saturday.
