The Emporia State soccer team again had the advantage in possession but couldn’t failed to capitalize in a 3-1 loss at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon. ESU gave up two Bulldog goals in the first 20 minutes of the match and trailed by that score going into halftime. SWOSU added a goal with just under 30 minutes left in the match before finally the Lady Hornets broke through with less than 5 minutes to play on an Amy Paver penalty shot. E-State outshot the Bulldogs 23-11 but couldn’t take advantage. ESU (1-2-1) returns to the ESU Pitch on Friday, September 11 to host Colorado State-Pueblo at 3:00 p.m.
