Emporia Police officers had a unique chase in parts of the city Friday night.
Police Sgt Dominick Vortherms tells KVOE News there was a disturbance call at Casey’s East, 1402 East 6th, around 8:30 pm. Officers initially tried a traffic stop with the driver of a semi, but the driver did not comply — so officers followed the semi westbound on 6th before stopping the truck near Lawrence. Vortherms says it was a felony, “high-risk” traffic stop that led to the arrest of the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The driver’s name has not been released. Other details are pending.
