Palermo’s Italian Ristorante, 2002 West 6th, has posted it is temporarily closed. Reasons have not been given and there is no indication when or if the restaurant will reopen. Palermo’s had opened in the summer of 2024 after longtime restaurant Shanghai closed.
The Smokehouse at 737 West 6th, meanwhile, has closed permanently — barely 6 months after replacing Billy Sims BBQ — and the business points to “negative comments, accusations and constant social media attacks” for the closure. The Smokehouse had a ribbon-cutting in Burlingame last month and plans to keep operating there.
The two closures follow the end of brick-and-mortar operations of Traci’s Shaved Ice and the end of all operations for House of Ma at the end of August.
