Emporia Fire had a brief response to the downtown corridor Sunday afternoon.
EFD was called to Emporia’s Jimmy John’s Location at 726 Commercial Street just after 2 pm for a reported structure fire. According to EFD, the fire was in a toaster in the kitchen area which was removed from the business before crews arrived.
No damages to the structure itself and no injuries were reported. The business did not have to be evacuated and operations continued as normal following the call.
