Emporia High soccer dropped its first game of the season 8-1 at the Salina South Invitational to Hays on Tuesday.
The Indians raced out to a 6-0 advantage in the first forty minutes. Brayden Sailer got EHS on the board in the second half to cut the deficit to five. Hays finished with the final two goals of the match.
The Spartans fall to 2-1 and continue at the Salina South Invitational on Thursday.
