Emporia Fire and Emporia Police had a busy 10 am hour Friday.
Around 10:10 am, both agencies were dispatched to a possible structure fire at the Lyon County State Bank Merchant Street location in the 900 block of Merchant. No fire was discovered, although an overheated exhaust motor was.
As that incident was under investigation, a reported injury crash was reported at 18th and Merchant involving 2 patients and 2 vehicles. Ultimately, neither person was hospitalized.
Merchant was blocked at both locations, including a few minutes of simultaneous blockage as the incidents were investigated.
