Scattered showers and storms brought isolated severe weather to parts of the KVOE listening area Saturday night.
Lake Kahola had hail up to the size of ping pong balls, or 1.5 inches in diameter, shortly before midnight. No damage has been reported so far. Isolated 1-inch hail was reported 5 miles north of Emporia between 7:30-8 pm Saturday night. Smaller hail, around nickel size, was reported near Rinker Corner northeast of Emporia shortly before 8 pm.
Rainfall totals from mid-afternoon Saturday to 8 am Sunday have been scattered and varied.

The rain from Saturday into Sunday follows the 1- to 5-inch rainfall noted across the area Wednesday into Thursday, and more rainfall is possible this week. Showers and storms may continue on a scattered basis through late Sunday morning, although only light rain is expected. More showers and storms are likely Tuesday into early Wednesday, with up to an inch of rainfall currently expected along with a marginal severe weather risk for wind and hail. Slight to moderate chances of showers and storms then continue into the upcoming weekend.
