Monday should provide a break between a stormy weekend a potentially stormy remainder of the week.

Saturday night activity also had isolated severe hail. Lake Kahola had hail up to the size of ping pong balls, or 1.5 inches in diameter, shortly before midnight. No damage has been reported so far. Quarter-sized or 1-inch hail was reported 5 miles north of Emporia between 7:30-8 pm Saturday night.
The rain from Saturday into Sunday follows the 1- to 5-inch rainfall noted across the area this past Wednesday into Thursday. After highs in the low 90s and heat index readings approaching 100 Monday, more showers and storms are likely Tuesday into early Wednesday, with up to an inch of rainfall currently expected along with a marginal severe weather risk for wind and hail. Slight to moderate chances of showers and storms return Thursday and then from Friday night through the upcoming weekend.
