A second criminal case has been filed against an Emporia man already charged with aggravated kidnapping after an alleged incident in east Emporia last month.
Brent Hardin was already facing kidnapping, aggravated battery, possession of a weapon by a felon, criminal damage and drug possession counts after allegedly holding a woman against her will, threatening her with a gun and hitting her as part of an alleged incident in the 1000 block of Weaver. The second case accuses Hardin of distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine, along with criminal possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for October 7 in the kidnapping case, although prosecutors have asked to delay that hearing due to scheduling conflicts. A first appearance in the drug distribution case is Monday afternoon.
