The Emporia State football team has moved up to No. 17 in the latest AFCA DII Coaches Poll following a 3-0 start after beating Michigan Tech last week. The Black & Gold jumped up to No. 16 in the D2Football.com media poll. Ferris State and Harding are 1-2 in both polls with the Bulldogs receiving all the first-place votes in the coaches poll. Kutztown is third followed by Minnesota State-Mankato and Colorado State-Pueblo. Northwest Missouri is the highest ranked MIAA team at No. 7 with the Hornets the second-highest ranked in the league. Fort Hays State, Central Oklahoma, and Central Missouri all received votes. The Hornets return to action Saturday to host Nebraska-Kearney at 4:00 p.m. at Welch Stadium.
