Emporia High volleyball made its debut at Spartan Gym on Thursday night and came away with a pair of victories.
The Lady Spartans opened the evening with a two-set win over Salina South, taking the first set 25-20 before closing out the match 25-21.
Emporia followed that performance with another sweep, defeating Topeka West 25-20 and 25-18.
Head coach Ping Wang said playing in front of the home crowd provided an extra spark for the Lady Spartans.
Wang added the biggest focus for her team moving forward is consistency.
With Thursday’s two wins, Emporia has now won six straight matches and improves to 12-5 on the season.
The Lady Spartans will be back in action next Thursday when they travel to Manhattan for a Centennial League triangular.
