USD 252 Southern Lyon County is into full fundraising mode for its upcoming Honor Flight next year.
Coming off a successful target shooting event late last month, the district is now offering a quarter beef through a raffle. On KVOE’s On-Air Chat this week, Superintendent Ryan Muhlig says things unfolded after the most recent visit to Washington DC.
And that’s what is happening at this time. Residents can donate $20 for the chance to win the beef, including processing at Alta Vista Locker. Muhlig says he will deliver the prize to the winner. He also says this is a good way to support veterans on the trip, even if you already have a good supply of beef on hand.
In November, the All Veterans Tribute Freedom Fest will send some money towards the district’s Honor Flight. The Lyon County State Bank Timmerman Ride has all proceeds earmarked to the Honor Flight program November 7. Honor Flight is also one of the beneficiaries in the Emporia Community Foundation’s annual Match Day fundraiser.
The next Honor Flight for USD 252 is April 12-13. More information is available at www.usd252.org and on the district’s social media platforms.
