An Emporia teen escaped serious injury following a rollover crash just east of town late Saturday night.
According to Lyon County Deputy Daniel Calvert, deputies and Emporia Fire and EMS were called to the intersection of Road 160 and N at approximately 10:40 pm for a reported rollover crash. During the investigation, deputies determined that 17-year-old Brynn Heffron of Emporia was traveling east on Road 160 in a 2012 Dodge Avenger and failed to negotiate a curve in the road.
The Avenger crossed into the opposite lane of travel and left the road before rolling an undetermined number of times. Heffron was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident and was evaluated on scene by EMS but declined further treatment or medical transportation.
