The Emporia State football team has moved up to No. 12 in this week’s AFCA Top 25 poll and No. 13 in the D2Football.com media poll following their 19-9 win over Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. Ferris State was idle and remained No. 1 in the poll followed by Harding, Kutztown, Minnesota State-Mankato and Colorado State-Pueblo in the top 5 with the top nine teams all remaining the same. Northwest Missouri stayed at No. 7 and the Hornets are the only other team ranked in this week’s coach’s poll. Fort Hays State is receiving votes. E-State is on a bye this week and returns to action on Saturday, October 3 to host Missouri Western with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. Coverage begins on Monday, September 28 with the next edition of Hornet Talk live from 627 Event Space at 6:00 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
