The Emporia Sertoma Club is getting ready to serve up breakfast this weekend while raising money for local students.
The annual Emporia Sertoma Club Scholarship Breakfast is set for Saturday, September 26th, from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Emporia Senior Center.
Vicki Brooks joined the KVOE morning show Tuesday to promote the event.
The fundraiser supports scholarships for students at Emporia State University, the ESU Department of Nursing, and Flint Hills Technical College.
Breakfast includes all-you-can-eat biscuits with sausage gravy or a sausage biscuit sandwich, scrambled eggs provided by Spangles, Fanestils sausage patties, and a beverage.
Adult tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased from any Sertoma member. Tickets will also be available at the door for $12.
Organizers say the breakfast gives community members a chance to enjoy a meal while helping provide scholarship support for area students pursuing higher education.
