Lady Hornet Win Streak Halted in Tahlequah

The Emporia State soccer team held their fifth-straight opponent to one goal or less, but couldn’t find the back of the net in a scoreless tie at Northeastern State on Sunday.  The RiverHawks halted a four-game winning streak for the Lady Hornets by keeping ESU out of the back of the net despite ESU outshooting the hosts 17-11 including 7-4 in shots on goal.  The Black & Gold took six corner kicks to just two for the ‘Hawks but seven saves from the NSU keeper kept ESU off the scoreboard.  Andrea Guzman picked up the shutout in goal for Emporia State while Ruby Ryan played all 90 minutes on the backline to help keep NSU off the board.  ESU (5-2-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) continues a three-game road swing Friday at Pittsburg State.
