The 7th annual Strong City Preservation Alliance Black-Tie Affair fundraiser is coming up next month.
The annual event, supporting the preservation of the Strong City Opera House, will take place Saturday, October 24th, beginning with a cash bar happy hour at 5 pm. A taco bar, catered by Smokin’ O’s, will open at 6 pm with live music provided throughout the evening.
Unlike normal black-tie affairs, an actual necktie is not required as the evening encourages a lot of creativity, according to SCPA Executive Director Becky Nurnberg.
Tickets for the fundraiser are currently available and cost $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight. All proceeds will go to support the preservation and restoration of the oper house, which celebrated its 125th anniversary last year and has served many purposes over its existence.
The ongoing restoration of the structure is the SCPA’s largest project to date, with more than $400,000 already invested. For tickets or more information on the event, email SCPA President Kay Lauer at Klauer@strongcitypreservation.org.
