Lyon County’s 2027 budget is set to be finalized during the Lyon County Commission’s upcoming weekly action meeting Thursday morning.
During the tail end of their session, commissioners may approve certifying the 27 budget, which currently carries a total of just over $40 million with a mill levy rate of 56.406, a 0.042 decrease from the previous year. The decision on the budget follows the commission’s decision not to exceed the revenue neutral rate earlier this month.
In separate matters, commissioners will consider a pair of requests from Lyon County Planning and Zoning Administrator Sam Seeley. Those items include a recommendation of denial for an agriculture conditional use permit for a “private recreational vehicle park” submitted by Luke Senft.
The second item will see commissioners consider a recommendation of approval for a separate permit for a communications tower submitted by Next-Tech Wireless.
Facilities Director Robbie Weiss will also submit a request to approve the annual Tech Electronics fire alarm test and inspection for county-owned properties, including the courthouse, courthouse annex, the Anderson and Bowyer buildings, mechanical shop, Sheriff’s Office and jail.
One executive session for an employee evaluation will also take place. The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
