The Street Cats Club of Emporia will have a lot to celebrate during its annual Black Cat Ball later this month, including hitting a significant milestone to start the month.
Thursday afternoon, the club, on its official Facebook page, announced that it has now provided TNR services to 1,000 local cats. The club celebrated the milestone alongside the Kansas State University Shelter Medicine team, which performed the procedure.
This milestone more than doubles the number of TNR services provided from the prior year and has been a major goal for the organization since the onset of the year. KVOE News has reached out to Street Cats Club Director and Founder Victoria Partridge to discuss the work of their team and the milestone in greater depth.
The milestone achievement comes just two weeks before the club’s annual Black Cat Ball fundraiser scheduled for October 17th. Tickets and information on the event are available online at Streetcatsclub.org.
